Trust

Updated: Dec 8, 2019

"I don't trust anyone... It's something that I have to live with, and I have to find the balance of who I want in my life and who isn't good for me" Selena Gomez once said. It is true. We must find the right balance of people who we want with us and who we do not. But that means taking risks. Trusting people on the basis of maybe a few months or days worth of contact sounds impossible but without taking the chance these people might slip through our hands. Without taking a chance, we cannot prove that someone is trustworthy. If we think that we are going to get hurt due to past experiences, there is a chance that we may even repel the trustworthy gems away. In hind sight past experiences must give us a clue about what we are looking for in people. We have to surround ourselves with others we trust. A normal human being cannot run away and hide from society without going insane. We are social animals. Prehistoric humans hunted in packs and lived as tribes. Packs and tribes have a strong foundation of trust. So yes, trust is essential. And growing trust among people is a beautiful phenomenon, where there is mutual happiness and satisfaction. Where everyone is confident of each others capabilities. When you know you have people to fall back on and trust, it is an amazing feeling. Your confidence is boosted and you do better in everything you wish to do. Yes times have changed. In this new era of technology, people are trusted on the basis of their profiles and texting skills. But the truth is without actual face to face conversation continuously we can never know whether he or she is trustworthy are not. A persons demeanor when he or she is in front of your eyes can tell you a lot more about them than what they seem like from behind a screen. There is evil out there trying to take advantage of those who are not careful, but there is goodness out there waiting to be discovered.
